Industrial activities involving the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies used to diagnose, treat, or prevent various diseases of humans or animals include: biological preparations and synthetic products such as vaccines and antitoxins made from blood, microorganisms, and their culture media; the manufacture of medical chemical preparations containing active ingredients and antibiotics in raw material form by extracting or synthesizing medicinal compounds from natural or mineral substances; herbal preparations prepared or processed from medicinal plants and medicinal parts or secretions of animals; and industrial activities producing pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in specific forms, such as powders, tablets, capsules, syrups, injections, and ointments, by combining or preparing a single or several types of pharmaceutical preparations.
