Korea’s standard industrial classification, maintained by Statistics Korea (KOSTAT). Revision 11 (2024) is built on ISIC Revision 4 with Korean renumbering and a 5-digit subclass level.

History

Maintained since 1963 and revised on the ISIC cycle, KSIC renumbers ISIC concepts for the Korean economy. Revision 11 took effect in 2024, still on the ISIC Rev. 4 baseline.

Usage & importance

The backbone of Korean official statistics, business registration and tax administration. Renumbered against ISIC, so conversions here use title-verified evidence chained through the official UN ISIC 4→5 correspondence.
