Description
1. Overview This industry primarily encompasses industrial activities that support the enhancement of management expertise and efficiency by performing professional, scientific, and technical tasks for other businesses under contract. These professional, scientific, and technical services may be performed by other businesses within the same enterprise. In this industry, highly specialized knowledge and trained human capital are input as key elements of service production. This includes research and development activities as well as industrial activities providing legal, accounting, advertising, market research, corporate headquarters, management consulting, architectural design, engineering, veterinary services, design, and other professional, scientific, and technical services.
A. Research and Development This refers to research and development activities in various fields such as natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences, including basic inquiry to obtain new knowledge, applied research conducted for practical purposes, and experimental development for product and process development.
B. Professional Services This refers to industrial activities providing professional services in areas such as law, accounting, advertising, and management, where human capital equipped with specialized knowledge is input as a key element.
C. Architectural Technology, Engineering, and Other Scientific and Technical Services: Refers to industrial activities providing architectural technology services such as architectural design and supervision; specialized engineering services utilizing engineering principles; geological or geophysical survey services; and scientific and technical services such as physical and chemical analysis and testing services.
D. Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services: Refers to industrial activities providing specialized design services such as interior design, product design, and visual design; and other specialized technical services such as veterinary services for livestock and companion animals; photography and processing; translation and interpretation; management services; and goods appraisal, weighing, and sample extraction services.
