Description

1. Overview This major category includes the accommodation business and the food service business.

A. Accommodation Business This refers to industrial activities that provide various types of accommodation facilities, campsites, and camping facilities, etc., to the general public or specific members on a short-term basis. It includes cases where accommodation facilities combined with food service facilities (providing food together) are operated, as well as cases where a separate business entity that does not engage in railway transportation operates only sleeper cars.

B. Food Service Business This refers to industrial activities that operate restaurants, eateries, casual dining establishments, cafes, snack shops, bars, and beverage shops equipped with hospitality facilities for direct on-site consumption and providing cooked food, as well as industrial activities that operate independent dining cars. Additionally, this includes cases where specific food ordered by a customer is cooked and delivered directly to the orderer in a state ready for immediate consumption without hospitality facilities, or where food is cooked and provided directly at a location desired by the customer.

1) Cases where hospitality facilities are equipped and ready-to-eat food is cooked and provided to customers This includes industrial activities that operate an in-house cafeteria under a contract with an institution, such as a company. 2) Cases where food purchased is provided to customers in a state ready for immediate consumption while equipped with hospitality facilities. 3) Cases where specific food ordered by customers is directly prepared and provided (delivered) to customers in a state ready for immediate consumption without hospitality facilities. This includes industrial activities of directly making and selling instant bread, cakes, coffee, etc., to general consumers without hospitality facilities. 4) Cases where food is directly prepared and provided for consumption at the venue during individual events (banquets) without hospitality facilities.
