Description

1. Overview This major category includes agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and related service industries.

A. Agriculture and Related Service Industries This includes crop cultivation, livestock farming, mixed crop and livestock farming, crop and livestock-related service industries, and hunting and hunting-related service industries.

1) Crop Cultivation This refers to industrial activities involving the cultivation and production of various agricultural crops, such as food crops, fruits, beverage and spice crops, vegetables and flowers, and craft crops, in open fields or within specific facilities. This includes tree cultivation activities other than forestry, the production of seedlings and seeds for purposes other than forest use, mushroom cultivation, and soybean sprout cultivation.

2) Livestock Farming This refers to industrial activities involving the rearing, breeding, and multiplication of livestock, poultry, honeybees, silkworms, and other land animals for various purposes. However, cases where animals are raised for use in specific activities such as transportation, competitions, or experiments, or where animals are raised and managed for sale at sales outlets, are excluded.

3) Integrated Crop Cultivation and Livestock Farming: Refers to cases where crop cultivation and livestock activities are performed in combination, with the specialization rate of one being 66% or less. If the specialization rate exceeds 66%, it shall be classified as either crop cultivation or livestock farming, respectively.

4) Crop Cultivation and Livestock-Related Service Industries: Refers to industrial activities that primarily provide services related to crop cultivation and livestock farming on a commission or contract basis.

5) Hunting and Related Service Industries: Includes industrial activities and hunting-related service activities involving the hunting, capture, or collection of wild land animals, birds, snakes, insects, etc., for the purpose of sale; however, hunting activities for sports or recreation are excluded.

B. Forestry and Related Service Industries: Refers to forest management, production of seeds and seedlings for forest use, logging activities, harvesting of wild forest products, and forestry-related service activities. Activities involving the harvesting of edible wild plants, such as wild strawberries and nuts, are also included.

C. Fisheries and Related Service Industries: Includes fishing, aquaculture, and fisheries-related service industries.

1) Fishing: Refers to industrial activities involving the capture or harvesting of aquatic animals and plants naturally inhabiting seas, rivers, lakes, streams, etc. It includes the activity of capturing whales at sea.

2) Aquaculture: Refers to industrial activities involving the artificial propagation or cultivation of aquatic animals and plants on sea or inland waters. It includes the cultivation of aquatic reptiles and frogs.

3) Fisheries-related Service Industry: Refers to industrial activities that provide services related to fishing and aquaculture on a commission or contract basis, without directly performing fishing or aquaculture activities.
