What 66.12-6 includes

• The activities of institutions that operate in the purchase, sale, and distribution of securities. They are typical of the stock market, operating in spot transactions and derivatives markets, on their own account and on behalf of third parties, within stock exchanges and commodity and futures exchanges, and on a non-exclusive basis, in the open market and over-the-counter. The expression "Securities Brokerage Firm" must be included in their corporate name
• The activities of institutions specializing in the distribution of securities in the market. They do not have access to stock exchanges. Their corporate name must include the expression "Securities Distributor"
• The activities of intermediation in foreign exchange transactions and the practice of operations in the floating exchange rate market carried out by foreign exchange brokerage firms. The expression "Foreign Exchange Brokerage Firm" must be included in its corporate name
• The activities of commodity contract brokers
• The activities of distributing and brokering securities, investment fund units, and derivatives under the responsibility of and as an agent of institutions that are part of the securities distribution system. These activities are carried out by a natural person or a single-professional legal entity (independent investment agent)
