What 26.20.Z includes
- This subclass includes the manufacture and/or assembly of electronic computers (e.g., mainframe computers, desktop computers, laptops, and computer servers) and the manufacture of computer peripheral equipment (e.g., memory devices, input/output devices such as printers, monitors, and keyboards). The following types of computers exist: analog, digital, or hybrid.
- Digital computers, the most common, perform the following functions: (1) store application programs or programs and data necessary for program operation; (2) can be freely programmed according to user requirements; (3) perform user-specified arithmetic calculations; (4) execute, without human intervention, an application program that requires the computer to modify its behavior based on logical decisions made during processing. Analog computers can simulate mathematical models and contain, at a minimum, analog control and software components.
