What 86.10.3 includes

• Facilities that provide inpatient treatment to eliminate a weakening of health that is likely to lead to illness in the foreseeable future, or to counteract a threat to a child's healthy development (preventive care), or to cure an illness, prevent its worsening, or alleviate symptoms, or, following hospital treatment, to secure or consolidate the treatment success achieved, also with the aim of preventing an impending disability, eliminating or improving a disability, preventing its worsening, or avoiding or reducing the need for care (rehabilitation), are professionally and medically equipped under constant medical supervision and with the participation of specially trained staff to improve the health of patients according to a medical treatment plan, primarily through the application of remedies including physiotherapy, movement therapy, speech therapy, or occupational and activity therapy, as well as through other suitable assistance, including mental and psychological interventions, and to help patients develop their own defenses and healing powers. And in which patients can be accommodated and cared for.
• This category includes short- or long-term activities of sanatoriums, preventive medicine facilities, hospitals and nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare facilities equipped to admit patients. This essentially involves inpatient treatment under the direct supervision of a physician.
