What 01 includes

• This division includes crop cultivation and animal husbandry and production.
• In crop cultivation, four segments (groups) are identified: temporary crop production (group 01.1); horticulture and floriculture (group 01.2); permanent crop production (group 01.3); and the production of certified seeds and seedlings (group 01.4), which includes traditional and organic cultivation processes, as well as the cultivation of genetically modified plants.
• In animal breeding and production, a single group is identified: livestock farming (group 01.5), which also includes the breeding of genetically modified animals.
• The production of seeds and seedlings for crops, when associated with cultivation, is classified under the same CNAE code as the cultivation. Units specializing in the production of certified seeds and seedlings, including genetically modified ones, are classified in their own category (group 01.4).
• The processing, within the agricultural production unit, of agricultural or livestock products originating from own production is classified under the same code as the production activity. When the processing is carried out by third parties, it is classified in section C - manufacturing industries, in a class corresponding to its economic activity.
• This division also includes traditional and trap hunting, activities supporting agriculture and livestock farming, and post-harvest activities.
• Activities supporting agriculture – soil preparation, planting, harvesting, etc. – and livestock support – animal handling, artificial insemination, etc. – performed under contract are included in this division in specific categories of agricultural support services (01.610) and livestock support services (01.62-8). These services, when performed in agricultural or livestock production units with their own resources, are included in the same class where the production unit is classified.
• Post-harvest activities (01.63-6) are understood to be the primary preparation of agricultural products for the market (cleaning, ornamentation, classification, disinfection).
