Description
It refers to industrial activities of mining, extracting, or collecting crude oil, natural gas, bituminous minerals, petroleum-containing shale, or tar sand from various types of oil fields, natural gas fields, or bituminous mineral mining sites. It may be combined with flotation, desalination, dehydration, sedimentation, and impurity removal activities related to crude oil production, as well as other simple processing activities that do not alter the basic characteristics of the products, and includes cases where natural gas directly extracted from oil fields or natural gas fields for transportation is liquefied, regasified, or converted into liquefied hydrocarbons.
