What 64.21.Z includes

• Holding company activities, i.e., entities that own assets (hold sufficient shares to provide control) in at least one subsidiary and whose sole purpose is to own subsidiaries. Holding companies in this class do not provide any other services to the enterprises in which they hold equity interests; that is, they do not manage or administer other entities.

What 64.21.Z excludes

• Activities of limited liability companies without a controlling interest in equity, classified in 64.32.Z,
• Investing in financial markets on own account, classified in 64.99.Z,
• Asset management activities performed on a fee or contract basis, classified in 66.30.Z,
• Management service activities (for example, strategic or organizational planning and decision-making, and head office administrative services), classified in 70.10.A,
• Active management of companies and businesses, strategic or organizational planning and decision-making processes for businesses, classified in 70.10.A.
