What P includes

• This section includes units that carry out public and private teaching activities, at any level and for any purpose, in person or remotely, through radio, television, correspondence or other means of communication. It includes both education provided by different institutions of the regular education system, at its different levels, as well as vocational training and continuing education (examples: language courses, apprenticeship courses and management and professional training).
• This section includes military academies, prison schools, etc., at their respective levels.
• Special education offered to people with special needs, preferably within the regular education system, is included in all three stages of basic education (early childhood education, elementary school, and high school).
• Adult and youth education, a form of school education, should be classified according to the level of education offered (elementary or secondary). Supplementary education is part of elementary and secondary education.
• Distance education is not a type of teaching but rather a way of delivering it, and it is applicable to both traditional education (basic education and higher education) and professional and continuing education.
• Daycare centers, of all types, are included in education.
• The breakdown of categories in this section takes into account the Law of Guidelines and Bases (Law No. 9,394 of 1996).
• Vocational education is distinguished from other types of education, according to technical and technological levels, following the National Curriculum Guidelines for Vocational Education at the Technical Level, defined in Resolution No. 04/99 of the National Education Council/Basic Education Commission (CNE/CEB).
• When an institution operates at more than one level of formal education, it is classified under the CNAE code corresponding to the highest level.
• This section also includes the teaching of sports, art and culture, and activities to support education.
