What 08 includes

• This division includes: - other mining and quarrying, - stone extraction, - dredging of river sediments, - crushing and comminution of rocks, - salt extraction. The extracted raw materials are mainly used in construction (e.g., sand, stone), in the production of materials (e.g., clay, plaster, lime), in the manufacture of chemicals, and the like.

What 08 excludes

• Processing of extracted raw materials (excluding crushing, grinding, cutting, cleaning, drying, sorting, and mixing), which is classified in the appropriate subclasses of section C.
