What F includes

• This section covers general and specialized construction work related to buildings and civil engineering structures. It includes construction work involving renovation, extension, reconstruction, superstructure, demolition, and the assembly of prefabricated buildings or structures on a construction site, as well as permanent or temporary structures. General construction work encompasses the construction of complete buildings (e.g., residential buildings, offices, shops, and other public buildings or farm buildings). This section also covers the construction of civil engineering structures (e.g., highways, streets, bridges, tunnels, railways, airport aprons, ports and other water structures, irrigation systems, sewer systems, industrial infrastructure, pipelines and power lines, and sports facilities). Construction work may be carried out on own account or on commission. Part of the work, or sometimes even the entire construction work, may be subcontracted. Businesses that bear full responsibility for the implementation of a construction project and subcontractors performing construction work are classified in this section. Additionally, this section covers building renovation and civil engineering work. Maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment that is an integral part of buildings (e.g., escalators or air conditioning systems) are classified as construction in Section F if this work is performed on a construction site.
• This section covers the construction of complete buildings (relevant subclasses of Division 41), complete civil engineering works (relevant subclasses of Division 42), as well as specialized construction work, provided it is part of the construction project (relevant subclasses of Division 43). The rental of construction equipment with an operator is classified in this section if the construction work involves its use.
• This section also covers: - renovation, restoration, reconstruction, and modernization of historic and archaeological sites and buildings.

What F excludes

• Activities related to manufacturing that do not take place on site, classified in the appropriate subclasses of section C,
• The manufacture and supply of structures and prefabricated building parts of wood or metal with minimal on-site construction work, classified in the appropriate subclasses of divisions 16 and 25,
• Research in archaeology, classified in 72.20.Z,
• Conservation, restoration, and other support activities related to cultural heritage, classified in 91.30.Z.
