Where F sits
- F Construction
Contains 3 narrower codes
What F includes
- This section covers general and specialized construction activities for building construction and civil engineering projects. This includes new construction, repair, extensions and conversions, the erection of prefabricated buildings or structures on the construction site, as well as temporary structures.
- The construction industry encompasses the construction of complete buildings (e.g., residential, office and commercial buildings, public buildings, as well as utility buildings and agricultural buildings). This also includes the construction of civil engineering structures (e.g., highways, roads, bridges, tunnels, railway lines, runways, ports and other hydraulic structures, irrigation systems, sewers, industrial plants, pipelines and electrical lines, sports facilities).
- These works can be carried out on one's own account or on a contract basis. Parts of the work, and sometimes even all of the practical work, can be subcontracted. Main contractors, who bear overall responsibility for a construction project, are classified here.
- The renovation of buildings and civil engineering structures is also included. Maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment that is an integral part of buildings (e.g., escalators or air conditioning systems) are classified as construction work in Section F if performed on the construction site.
- This section includes the complete construction of buildings (Division 41), the complete construction of civil engineering works (Division 42), and specialized construction activities, provided they are carried out only as part of the construction process (Division 43).
- The rental of construction machinery with operators is assigned to the specific construction activity performed with that machinery.
- Renovation, renewal, rebuilding and retrofitting of historical and archaeological sites and buildings
What F excludes
