What J includes

  • This section encompasses the activities of creating and placing products with informational content on media that enable their dissemination; the activities of transmitting these products via analog or digital signals (through electronic, wireless, optical, or other means); and the activities of providing services and/or operating infrastructure that enable the transmission and storage of these products.
  • Products containing informational content are not necessarily tangible and, unlike traditional products, are not associated with a specific format. The value of these products lies in the content and not in the format of the medium in which they are placed for distribution. For example, a film can be shown in cinemas, on television, or copied onto video for rental or sale to the public. Some of the activities included in this section involve copyright.
  • The main activities in this section are publishing and publishing integrated with printing (Section J - division 58), motion picture activities and sound recording and music publishing (Section J - division 59), radio and television activities (Section J - division 60), telecommunications activities (Section J - division 61), information technology activities (Section J - division 62) and other information service activities (Section J - division 63).
  • Publishing activities include the acquisition of copyrights for products containing information, as well as activities that allow the dissemination of this content to the general public, i.e., the reproduction and distribution of this content. This section includes all viable forms of publishing products containing information (print, electronic or audio, on the internet and in multimedia products such as CDs, DVDs, etc.).
  • Activities related to the production and distribution of television programming encompass divisions 59, 60, and 61, reflecting the different stages of this process. Activities such as the production of cinematographic films and television series are included in division 59, while the creation of a complete television channel schedule, which includes both the products resulting from the activities of division 59 and live television programming, is part of division 60. Division 60 also includes activities related to the broadcasting of this programming by the producer itself. The distribution of television programming by third parties, that is, without including any alteration to the content, is included in division 61. The activity of content distribution (telecommunications), addressed in division 61, includes broadcasting via cable, microwave, or satellite, or a combination of these technologies.
