Where 24102 sits

  1. C Manufacturing
  2. 24 Manufacture of basic metals
  3. 241 Manufacture of basic iron and steel
  4. 2410 Manufacture of Basic Iron and Steel
  5. 24102 Manufacture of ferrous metal alloys

What 24102 includes

  • This sub-class includes one of the following operations:
  • Reduction of iron ore in blast furnaces and oxygen converters
  • Reduction of ferrous waste and scrap in electric arc furnaces
  • Direct reduction of iron ore without fusion to obtain crude steel. The crude steel is smelted and refined in a ladle furnace, and then poured and solidified in a continuous caster in order to produce semi-finished flat or long products. These products are used, after reheating, in rolling, drawing and extruding operations to manufacture finished products such as plate, sheet, strip, bars, rods, wire, tubes, pipes and hollow profiles.
  • Units in this sub-class include the manufacture of:
  • Ferro-alloys
  • Ferrous products by direct reduction of iron and/or other spongy ferrous products

What 24102 excludes

  • Manufacture of non-ferrous metal alloys, see 24201
