What 53.10.0 includes

  • This subclass covers the provision of postal services carried out under a universal service obligation by one or more designated universal service providers. Activities include the use of a comprehensive service infrastructure, including retail outlets, sorting and processing facilities, and mail collection and delivery routes. Delivery may include letter mail (i.e., letters, postcards, printed matter such as newspapers, magazines, and advertising mail), small parcels, goods, or documents. Other services necessary for fulfilling the universal service obligation are also included.
  • Collection, sorting, transport, and delivery (nationally or internationally) of letter mail and (letter-like) parcels and packages by postal services operating under a universal service obligation. Transport may be carried out in various ways, using either the provider's own (private) vehicles or public transport.
  • Collection of letter mail and parcels from public mailboxes or post offices.
