What 64.19Y includes

• The receiving of deposits and/or close substitutes for deposits and extending of credit or other forms of loan funds. The granting of credit can take a variety of forms (for example, loans, mortgages, credit cards, consumer, etc). These activities are generally carried out by monetary institutions other than central banks, such as:
• Banking institutions
• Savings banks
• Credit unions and co-operative
• Activities of banks books (for example, current accounts and savings accounts, postal)
• The granting of credit by deposit-taking institutions specialized (for example for the purchase of housing or agriculture)
• Activities related to the issuance and payment of warrants

What 64.19Y excludes

• The granting of loans by the specialized agencies not receiving deposits (for example, the purchase of a dwelling), see 64.92Y
• The activities of processing and settlement of transactions made by credit card, see 66.19 H.
