What 64.190 includes

• Receiving deposits and/or close substitutes for deposits and granting credit or other forms of lending money. Credit can be provided in many different ways, e.g. loans, mortgages, credit cards, etc. These activities are generally carried out by monetary institutions other than central banks, e.g.: • banks • savings banks • credit cooperatives and associations
• Operations with postal giro and postal savings banks
• Credit provision by special institutions that accept deposits, e.g. for house purchases, agriculture
• Business with payment orders and transfers

What 64.190 excludes

• Credit granting by special institutions that do not accept deposits, e.g. for house purchases, see 64.920
• Initiation and settlement of credit card transactions, see 66.190
