What 38.214 includes

• Processing of metal and non-metal waste and scrap into secondary raw materials, usually using a mechanical or chemical conversion process: • mechanical crushing of metal waste from used cars, washing machines, motorcycles, etc. • mechanical reduction of large iron objects such as railway carriages • decomposition of metal waste, end-of-life vehicles, etc. • other methods of mechanical treatment such as cutting and pressing to reduce volume • recycling of metal from photographic waste, such as fixatives or photographic film and photo paper • regeneration of rubber from e.g. end-of-life tires to produce recycled raw materials • sorting and pelletizing of plastic to produce recycled raw materials for pipes, flower pots, pallets, etc. • processing (washing, melting, grinding) of plastic or rubber waste into granules • crushing, cleaning and sorting of glass • crushing, cleaning and sorting of other waste such as demolition waste to obtain recycled raw materials • processing of other food, beverage and tobacco waste and residual substances to obtain recycled raw materials • recycling of used cooking oil, processing of used cooking oils and fats into recycled raw materials • extraction of silver from chemical waste, not by electrolytic refining • recovery of phosphorus from sewage sludge incineration • recycling of textile and clothing products through mechanical, thermal or chemical processes • production of compost from organic waste • production of biogas from waste, not for the supply of gas or energy
