What 38.21.Z includes

• Processing metal and non-metal waste (including scrap and other articles) into secondary raw materials,
• Recovering raw materials from waste by: • separating and sorting recyclable materials from non-hazardous waste (i.e., garbage), • separating and sorting mixed recyclable materials (e.g., paper, plastics, used beverage cans, metal) into various categories.
• Examples of mechanical or chemical waste processing include: Mechanical crushing and shredding of metal objects, such as old cars, washing machines, or motorcycles,
• Mechanical reduction of large iron components (e.g., railway wagons),
• Iron recovery from clinker,
• Metal recovery from photographic waste (e.g., fixers, film, and photographic paper),
• Dismantling of all types of wrecks (cars, ships, computers, televisions, and other equipment) for raw material recovery,
• Production of rubber powder from rubber waste and scrap, including decontamination, separation (elimination) of fractions, and devulcanization,
• Sorting and mechanical processing (e.g., cleaning, grinding) of plastics to produce secondary raw materials,
• Processing (aging, cleaning, sorting) of bottom ash for the recovery of secondary raw materials (metals, aggregates),
• Crushing, cleaning, and sorting of glass,
• Crushing, Cleaning and sorting of residual waste (e.g., demolition waste to obtain secondary raw materials),
• Processing of other waste from food, beverages, tobacco products, and other residues into secondary raw materials,
• Recovery of waste oils, processing of used edible oils and fats into secondary raw materials,
• Extraction of silver from chemical waste, other than electrolytic refining,
• Recovery of phosphorus from sewage sludge incineration,
• Recovery of textile and clothing products through mechanical, thermal, or chemical processes,
• Production of compost from waste,
• Production of biogas from waste, not for gas supply or energy purposes.
