What 56 includes

• This division includes the activities of restoration, namely, to serve meals or drinks ready to be consumed immediately, whether in traditional restaurants, self- service or take-away, temporary or permanently, with or without seating. What is the determining factor, is the fact that meals are meant to be consumed immediately, and not the type of establishment that provides it.

What 56 excludes

• The production of meals not intended to be consumed immediately or of prepared food which are not considered to constitute a meal, see divisions 10 and 11
• The sale of food products not produced by the unit and that are not considered as a meal, or meals which are not intended to be eaten immediately, see sectionG
• Distributors of coffee and vending machines selling food and drinks prepared by the machine itself, see division 47
